A collection of some recent works, along with some insight from the artist.
This piece is a celebration of my time in Breath of the Wild. After finally completing my journey (by which I mean I finally confronted Ganon, by no means have I finished exploring) I sat down and reflected on my travels while studying all of the armor I had collected along the way. Taking bits and pieces from many of them, I designed this outfit showing off my many souvenirs from the peoples I met and challenges I faced.
This may be is the most heavily detailed piece I've ever drawn. I lined and shaded (then colorized and shaded the lines of) every small accessory I packed into this drawing; including more on the horse that is blocked from view by it's rider.
The day I started this piece I had given myself a simple prompt for practicing figure/pose and furry anatomy. I looked up ballet dancers for reference and chose the Antelope Jackrabbit because of its long spindly legs, enormous ears, and handsome face.
When the drawing came along as well as it did, I decided to try something new with the hair, which I wound up really happy with. I also practiced some lighting techniques I hadn't tried very many times. Finally I experimented with just doodling some accents with a colored pencil brush right on top of the finished drawing, as sort of a reminder and celebration of the drawing tool itself.
I was pretty happy with the subject here, I liked the shapes and the flow of his pose. Then I tried a background I had absolutely no experience with.
I kept the skyline simple with solid blocked in colors; it's not perfect but I think it was successful enough. I was also going for a funny sort of curved perspective. That turned out a little messy but it's almost what I was going for.
This was supposed to be a simple personal server icon commission, but I got wayyy carried away.
The prompt for the piece was just too up my alley apparently; I kept detailing and rendering until I'd spent easily 5 times the amount of time I had charged for the piece haha.
Drawn for an Inktober prompt, this one was just simple fun and good practice with pen-and-ink techniques.
These are two outfits from an ongoing dressable avatar project that I've done for one of my best friends. This was my first try rendering blood this way, and I was really happy with the shapes and textures of both of these.
This is just a really soft drawing of my favorite Animal Crossing neighbor. I was pleased with the rendering of the plush-like subject, and pretty happy with the environment details and the background. This piece is one of the first that I tried more complex shading and got a good result.
Another Inktober prompt, I went for a more detailed and realistic style than usual. It was fun practice using positive and negative space.
